Students from 4th to 5th grade got a hands-on experience in our clay workshop. They created a variety of clay objects: diyas (ceramic oil lamps used during the festival of Diwali in India) Indian deities, animals and vases!
The students were first taught how to make a bowl using the pinch pot method. After the students got a feel for the clay, we moved on to a more intermediate technique: animals. Using pieces of clay we showed students how to make various animals such as dogs and cats. After both demonstrations, we asked students to experiment with the clay and use their creativity to make whatever they wished!
Donation: 17lbs of clay and 18 ceramics tools
This event was held at the Little Paradise School in Tanuku, India.
